before the filing deadline on

31st, 2003

Mike Abe
Robert
Tokioka, III and Mike Abe, who have both joined the Party within the past year,
may not meet the requirements of the Party Rules which states that one year of
Party Membership is required for the position.
So
far, Alex Santiago and Cindy Rasmussen, along with
Jill
Tokuda
have
confirmed that they will be attending the Maui Democratic Century Club Luncheon
on April 2nd.
Please
try to attend this important Lunch Meeting, which will have great impact on the
future of
Hawaii

Democratic Party.

Century Club to Review
Party Chair Candidates
WAIKAPU – Hawaii
Democratic Party Executive Director
Jill Tokuda
will join members of the Maui
Democratic Century Club for a review of applicants for state party chair at a
session scheduled for Wednesday at the Maui Tropical Plantation. The State
Central Committee is accepting applications through Monday for an individual to
succeed
Lorraine Akiba
as party chair. While party leaders
do not know who the applicants are, Maui Party Chairman
Jonathan Starr
said “We do know it will be an
interesting and diverse group of Democratic leaders form around the state.”
Tokuda, who was appointed party executive director on March
8, will meet with the
Maui
organization for a luncheon session
from
noon
to 1:30 pm. The lunch is $10 for
Century Club members and $15 for nonmembers.
